Off The Beaten Path In Costa Blanca

March 12, 2010| Spain | Alicante| Cities

The city of Alicante is to be found on Spain’s Costa Blanca and is one of the most well known of all the resorts that make up this part of the country.  As well as providing visitors with miles of sandy beaches to relax and enjoy the sun on there are plenty of bars, shops and restaurants to enjoy that are found on its wonderful boulevards and streets.

Certainly if you are looking for a place to vacation this year where the weather is great all year round, then this is the place for you to come. On average the temperatures here don’t dip much below 15 degrees Centigrade during the winter months and as for summer a cool breeze blowing from the Mediterranean sea helps to keep temperatures down to a more comfortable level.

But along with shops, bars, restaurants and beaches for visitors to enjoy there are plenty of other things for them to do and see when in Alicante.

Algar Waterfalls, Les Fonts de Algar, is the perfect place for the whole family to enjoy a day out. Located close to the town of Callosa den Sarria as the name suggests there are number of waterfalls that make up this particular attraction which then collects in pools below that visitors can swim in if they wish. However, if you want to really enjoy everything that this place has to offer take one of the many paths that weave its way through the area.

Cuevas del Canelobre is near to the town of Busot that is just 24km from Alicante these prehistoric caves are worth a visit. Upon arrival you have the chance to explore their interiors and certainly on a hot summer’s day you may find exploring them very refreshing because they are so cool inside. You will be amazed at the variety of ways that the rocks have been formed into by various elements. Some look like candelabra’s whilst others like animals.
